Massachusetts Is Not a PA Compact State

Massachusetts has not enacted the PA Licensure Compact, and no implementation is pending. The compact offers nothing here in either direction: when privileges begin in 2027 they will not reach Massachusetts, and — the part that catches people — a Massachusetts license will not qualify you for privileges anywhere else either. If Massachusetts is the only state you are licensed in, you will have no route into the compact at all when it opens. That is worth knowing now rather than in 2027, because the fix is a license in a member state, and licenses take months. Practising in Massachusetts requires a Massachusetts license, full stop.

Every state requires current NCCPA certification and a degree from an ARC-PA accredited programme; what varies is the supervision or collaboration agreement, the prescriptive authority granted, and how long the board takes.
