20 CSR 2150-7.200 sets Missouri’s physician assistant fees, and they are the lowest we have verified anywhere.
The schedule
Licensure 8. Renewal 8. Temporary licensure 5. Certificate of controlled substance prescriptive authority 5. Late renewal 5.
For comparison: Ohio charges 00 to apply, Tennessee 35, North Carolina 25. Missouri charges 8.
What this is useful for
Missouri is a compact member state. From 2027, a license here should qualify a PA for privileges across the membership.
So for a PA whose licenses are all in non-member states — California, New York, Texas, Florida — and who wants a route into the compact, Missouri is the cheapest door available. Twenty-eight dollars plus the ordinary application work.
The honest caveats
The fee is not the cost. The application still requires NCCPA verification, transcripts from your program, primary source verification of every prior license, a background check and a collaboration arrangement. That work is the same in a 8 state as in a 00 one, and it is where the months go.
And a license you hold purely as a compact entry point still has to be maintained in good standing, with whatever CME Missouri requires. A qualifying license that lapses takes every privilege resting on it down at once.
Verify the current schedule before filing — this reflects the rule as we last checked it.
